Classroom Expectations:
- RESPECT – This classroom is based on respect. Learning can only occur when respect abounds; therefore, it is expected.
- CLASS PREPARATION – Students are expected to come to class prepared with all class-related materials. This includes binder, notebook, novel, pencils, homework assignment book, assignments, and a good attitude.
- ASSIGNMENTS –Assignments are given to enrich instruction. We do not give unnecessarily difficult or long assignments; therefore, we expect them to be turned in on time (which is the day after it is assigned). In Reading, HW is graded weekly; 25 points will be deducted for each HW assignment missed in a week. Student starts with 100%. In Writing, HW will be graded weekly as well. However, each assignment will be graded individually and based on points or check plus/check/check minus system.
- SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS – Upon occasion, it will be necessary for a substitute teacher to be in the classroom. This person is to be treated with respect as any teacher or teacher aide in this school. An unfavorable report from a substitute will not be ignored.
- 1st time- verbal warning
- 2nd time- written reflection
- 3rd time- parent notification
- 4th time- principal will handle severe disruptions.
- Please see Class Dojo Sheet.
